Continental Mfg. Company, Inc. Fact Summary
Continental Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was formed as a Texas corporation in 1982 in Houston, TX to supply concrete mixer replacement parts for the ready mix industry. It expanded over the years, adding regional sales offices in Dallas, TX; Tallahassee & Miami, FL; Nashville, TN; Fontana, CA; Atlanta, GA; Greensboro, NC; and San Juan, PR.
The company then incorporated an entity which has become BMW Manufacturing Co., Ltd. to manufacture rear discharge concrete mixers, and the new subsidiary produced the first CBMW mixer in 1991. Through today, the company has produced over 5,000 rear discharge mixers. Its mixers range from large twelve yard trailer units to ten and one half yard standard, paver and extra axle mixers to easily maneuverable three to six yard mixers. Continental’s CBMW mixers have been recognized as some of the safest, most durable, most driver friendly, and fastest operating concrete mixers available anywhere in the world.
Continental’s headquarters and manufacturing facility sit on twenty-seven acres located in southeast Houston. At this location the company manufactures its mixers and replacement parts from steel milled specifically to its specifications. Continental’s experienced engineers and manufacturing personnel work together to produce the highest quality mixers and replacement parts in the industry.
Continental continues to increase its market share for replacement parts for the concrete mixer industry, offering quality parts for all major brands of mixer. This array of parts encompasses everything from large fabricated parts such as pedestals and water tanks to electronic switches and hydraulic pumps and motors. Its parts are also bought in the OEM market. Continental additionally produces high performance, durable replacement drums for all major brands of mixer. The industry-leading ZT gearbox has gained wide acceptance as a replacement item as well as an OEM part.
Today Continental markets parts and mixers across the United States, in the Caribbean, and to overseas venues. It also sells concrete batch plants and related equipment and offers expertise concerning technical details relating to concrete batch plants.
Continental continues to enjoy an expanding customer base for its parts and mixers. Its name and its motto, “We are partners in quality,” are seen in national publications and shows. Continental publishes its own trade magazine, The CBMW Executive Times, which it uses as a platform to present articles of interest about its customers, maintenance features, and informational material to the ready mix industry.
